The Adamawa Government says it has begun preparations for the 2025 farming season to boost food production and support farmers across the state.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. David Finchiwa Jatau, disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen in Yola.
Jatau said the government had identified key areas of intervention, including the provision of quality seeds, fertilizers, and access to farmland.
He said the state had allocated large hectares of land for cultivation and was working to ensure timely distribution of farm inputs to farmers.
“Our efforts are aimed at enhancing food security and improving the livelihoods of residents who rely on agriculture,” he said.
Jatau said the government would also support farmers with credit facilities and extension services to boost productivity.
He said the proactive steps were part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the agricultural sector and promote economic growth in the state.
