Adamawa Govt Initiates Digitalization Of State Media Stations

The Adamawa State Government, led by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has embarked on a significant initiative to digitalize the state-owned Media Stations and Government Printer, aiming to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

During the “Jihar Mu A Yau” live program on ABC Yola, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Kumangar Solomon, revealed the government’s plan to allocate four billion Naira (N4B) towards the digital transformation of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC Yola).

This includes the provision of three digital transmitters and other necessary equipment currently in the procurement phase.

Mr. Kumangar emphasized that Governor Fintiri’s directive ensures the swift commencement of the digitalization project, which also involves restoring booster stations and AM transmission.

Additionally, Adamawa Press Limited, publishers of “The Scope Newspaper,” will undergo upgrades to incorporate digital equipment for online news publication.

Addressing concerns about inadequate manpower at state media stations, efforts are underway to recruit and integrate casual staff into the state Civil Service to enhance operational efficiency.

The program “Jihar Mu A Yau ABC Yola” airs every Saturday at 11:00 am and Sunday at 9:00 pm, spearheaded by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Alh. Muhammad B. Tukur, under the guidance of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
