The Adamawa State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has launched the Adamawa State Policy on Gender in Education to promote gender equality and address disparities in the education sector.
The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Jami Al Hakeem Foundation (JHF), was unveiled at a ceremony attended by key education stakeholders, including Dr. Murtala Umar Babayi, Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), alongside directors from the board.
Speaking at the event on Wednesday, Babayi said the policy would help bridge gender gaps in education and ensure that all children, regardless of gender, have access to quality learning opportunities.
“The policy aligns with the state government’s commitment to strengthening education by developing inclusive policies and improving infrastructure to support learning,” he said.
The launch was made possible through sponsorship from JHF and Malala Funding, underscoring efforts by development partners to support educational reforms in the state.
According to education experts, the new policy is expected to enhance inclusivity, equity, and equal opportunities for students across Adamawa.
