Adamawa PDP Begins Sale of Ganye Bye-Election Forms, Rejects Coalition Group

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has commenced the sale of nomination forms for the forthcoming Ganye Constituency bye-election.

The state party chairman, Barr. Tahir Shehu, announced this at a press briefing on Friday in Yola.

Shehu said the sale of forms is part of the party’s preparations to field a credible and popular candidate for the election.

According to him, the PDP primary election for the constituency is scheduled to hold on July 21, while the bye-election will take place on Aug. 16, in accordance with the timetable released by the electoral commission.

The chairman noted that the PDP remained strong and united under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, stressing that the party’s structure in the state is intact.

He dismissed the recent formation of a political coalition movement in the state, describing its promoters as disgruntled politicians.

“These are people who have enjoyed the goodwill of the PDP over the years but have now turned political adventurers, moving from one party to another in pursuit of selfish interests,” Shehu said.

He reiterated that Adamawa remained a PDP stronghold and urged party members to remain steadfast and focused as the party heads into the bye-election.

Shehu assured that the nomination process would be transparent and fair, urging aspirants from Ganye Constituency to participate actively.

The PDP chairman also called on party supporters to sustain their loyalty and work towards the party’s victory at the polls.
