Adamawa Police Arrest Five Suspects For Armed Robbery, Kidnapping

Adamawa State Police operatives, in collaboration with local hunters, have arrested five suspects linked to a series of armed robbery and kidnapping activities in the state.

According to a police report signed by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Command, the arrest was made on May 10, 2024, following a timely response to distress calls reporting a roadblock by armed robbers on the Numan-Jalingo Road, which connects Adamawa and Taraba States.

The suspects, identified as Adamu Usman (25), Sule Abba (20), Abdullahi Muhammed (20), Aliyu Abubakar (26), and Isah Musa (25), all residents of Kedemure and Barikin Sajo in Demsa and Song Local Government areas, were arrested after a hot chase by the police response team.

The suspects had armed themselves with offensive weapons, blocked the Numan-Jalingo Road, robbed commuters of their belongings, and kidnapped three passengers on May 9, 2024, at around 11:30 pm. However, the swift response by the police led to their arrest, recovery of the weapons, and successful rescue of the kidnapped victims.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the gallantry performance of SP Begina Umar, DPO Demsa, his men, and the hunters involved in the operation.

He directed that the suspects be taken to the Crack Squad Unit of the Command for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
