Adamawa Police Arrest Two Shilla Cult Suspects After Robbery Incident

The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified its efforts to tackle violent crimes and combat Shilla gangsterism in the state.

The Command arrested two suspects linked to the notorious Shilla cult group, a network known for its involvement in violent crime across the state.

The suspects, identified as Bagir Magaji Muhammad, 18, of Layin Chinko, and Zaradeen Hadi, 18, of Sohon Kasuwa in Yola North Local Government Area, were apprehended after a robbery incident.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly trailed and robbed a resident, Habiba Umar, of her mobile handset on November 4, 2024, using offensive weapons. The police have since recovered the stolen handset, along with a sharp knife and a horn reportedly used during the robbery.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Adamawa State confirmed that investigations are still ongoing. “These arrests underscore our dedication to restoring peace and addressing youth criminal involvement across the state,” the PPRO stated.

The Command reassured residents of its commitment to curbing violent crime and Shilla-related activities, affirming that all efforts will be made to protect lives and property in Adamawa State.
