
The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the murder of Mr. Thomas Godwin, popularly known as Zamfara, who was reportedly killed by unknown assailants on the night of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, the victim was attacked while returning home and was brutally beaten with sticks and clubs, which led to his death.
The statement said the Commissioner of Police has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence a full-scale investigation into the incident.
“A team of detectives has been deployed to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice,” the statement added.
While expressing condolences to the family of the deceased, the command appealed to members of the public to come forward with any useful information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
The Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property in the state and called for public cooperation in tackling criminal activities.
