Adamawa Sets To Establish Coordination Mechanism For Sustainability

The Adamawa State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, in collaboration with UN WOMEN, has initiated a review meeting with Women in Peace and Security (WPS) Networks and strategic partners.

The meeting, held at City Green Hotel, aimed to assess the WPS project’s progress, identify gaps, and chart a future course before the programme’s closure in December 2024.

Representative of HEforSHE, Mr. Mustapha Shallangwa, praised the programme’s sensitization efforts against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

Chairman, Numan Local Government Council, Hon. Innocent Koto, commended UN WOMEN’s WPS programme, while Vice Chairman, Yola North Local Government Area, Sarah Samuel, emphasized the need to tackle GBV.

The Enhancing Gender-Responsive Security Operations and Community Dialogue Project in Nigeria Phase II aims to ensure accountable and gender-responsive security in Nigeria.
