The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has released the outcome of the initial screening of applications for the ongoing recruitment into the state civil service, shortlisting 52,003 candidates from a total of 96,102 applicants.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the Commission said the shortlisted candidates have been cleared to proceed to the next stage of the exercise.
The Commission explained that the screening process was conducted with strict adherence to set criteria, and outlined several reasons for the disqualification of some applicants. These included submission of applications with mismatched fields of study and qualifications, overaged candidates, incorrect document uploads, and applications from non-indigenes of Adamawa State.
Others disqualified were holders of the National Certificate in Education (NCE), which was not part of the approved qualification categories for the recruitment, as well as individuals currently employed in local government councils.
“The government assures applicants that due process is being followed. We urge all applicants to ensure they possess the requisite documents and qualifications to avoid disqualification,” the statement said.
The Commission further advised the 52,003 eligible applicants to comply with all guidelines and requirements that will be issued in the next phase of the recruitment exercise, to ensure a smooth and successful transition through the process.
The employment exercise is part of the state government’s effort to strengthen the workforce and enhance service delivery across the state.
