Adamawa Signs N80bn Power, E-Mobility Deals to Boost Growth

The Adamawa Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two companies to boost electricity supply and modernise transportation in the state.

The agreements were signed with A4&T Power Solutions Limited and Sparrow Mobility Limited at the Governor’s Office, Government House, Yola.

Speaking at the event, Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the deals marked a major step toward economic growth, industrial transformation and improved living standards.

He assured the investors of full government support, adding that reliable electricity and modern mobility systems would fast-track development across the state.

According to him, the partnership with A4&T Power Solutions will focus on power generation and distribution, while Sparrow Mobility will assemble and deploy electric motorcycles and tricycles.

The governor said steady electricity would drive industries, agriculture and job creation, while clean mobility would provide safer transport, reduce emissions and empower youths.

The Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Mr Adamu Atiku, said over N80 billion would be invested to generate 15 megawatts of power in five years through mini-grids, hybrid and solar systems.

He added that Sparrow Mobility planned to deploy 10,000 electric motorcycles and bicycles within two years, with assembly and charging plants in the state.

Also speaking, Mr Ayo Ademilua, Chief Executive Officer, A4&T Power Group, said the company had mapped out areas across major local government areas to determine the type of power projects needed.

He explained that while some locations would require interconnected mini-grids, others would need isolated mini-grids or long distribution systems.

Ademilua noted that the company had more than 12 years of experience in deploying power projects in Nigeria and was committed to tailoring solutions to Adamawa’s needs.

On her part, the Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Wunfe Anthony, thanked the governor for supporting the partnership.

She said the agreement would promote clean energy, reduce carbon emissions and enhance eco-friendly transportation in the state.
