Adamawa Speaker Dispatches NEMA, ADSEMA Teams To Assess Windstorm Damage In Hong LGA

Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, has engaged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) to assess the damages caused by a recent windstorm in several communities in Hong Local Government Area.

The affected communities include Pella, Wurro Garba, Lugga, Jabba, and Mombol, where a heavy windstorm destroyed houses and triggered a fire outbreak, leaving many residents in need of urgent assistance.

Following the disaster, the Speaker has directed NEMA and ADSEMA to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the damages to determine the extent of the destruction and identify the affected victims. This move is aimed at facilitating swift intervention and support to those affected.

The assessment team has been dispatched to the affected areas, and the Speaker has assured that assistance will be provided to the victims as soon as the assessment report is received and scrutinized.
