The Adamawa State Government is set to enhance its electricity supply with a 300-megawatt (MW) solar power project by Liberal Energy of Australia.
Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Wednesday met with representatives of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) and Liberal Energy, led by Engr. Silas Zakkah, to discuss strategies for improving power distribution and integrating renewable energy into the state’s grid.
The YEDC delegation assured the governor of ongoing efforts to upgrade the power network to support the new solar capacity. Both parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the project’s implementation.
Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustainable energy, noting that the initiative aligns with the state’s goal of ensuring reliable power for households, businesses, and industries.
The project is expected to reduce power shortages, attract investment, and support economic growth in the state.
It also aligns with Nigeria’s broader renewable energy agenda and efforts to diversify the energy sector.
