The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has warned the public, especially applicants of the ongoing recruitment exercise, to beware of fraudulent individuals demanding money for job placement.
The Commission issued the warning in a statement signed by its Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Umar Maiha, on Thursday in Yola.
Maiha said some individuals were reportedly soliciting bribes from applicants under the false pretense of offering job slots within the state civil service.
He described the act as job racketeering, noting that it is a criminal offence that would not be tolerated.
“The Commission strongly warns that anyone caught engaging in such fraudulent activities, either by offering or accepting bribes, will face the full weight of the law,” he said.
He emphasised that the ongoing recruitment process remains free, fair, and strictly merit-based, in line with the directive of Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
“The Commission is committed to upholding transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants,” the statement added.
Maiha urged applicants to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to scammers, assuring them that the next phase of the recruitment would be announced through official channels in due course.
