APC Reconciliation Committee Moves to Resolve Internal Disputes

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Conflict Resolution, Strategy and Mobilization Committee has identified key areas requiring urgent reconciliation to address internal disagreements and strengthen party unity ahead of forthcoming political engagements.

The committee, chaired by Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni, reached the resolution during a meeting held at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge on Friday in Abuja.

Members of the committee stressed the need to urgently resolve lingering internal conflicts and chart a new course for cohesion, unity and stability within the party as preparations intensify for the APC national convention and future electoral activities.

According to the committee, fostering unity within the party is essential to giving all stakeholders and members a sense of belonging as the country gradually moves towards another electioneering cycle.

The committee emphasized the importance of sealing all existing differences to enable the party approach its programmes and future national elections with a united front.

It noted that unity and cohesion remain central to its mandate, adding that several states and political actors whose disagreements could pose threats to the party’s progress have already been identified for swift intervention and resolution.

The committee is chaired by Governor Buni, with Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta and Uba Sani of Kaduna as members.

Other members include Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Senator Adamu Aliero; and the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs and other Matters, Ibrahim Masari. Muiz Banire, SAN, serves as secretary of the committee.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to reconciling aggrieved interests and strengthening the APC ahead of key political milestones.
