The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the local government elections held on Saturday, winning all 17 chairmanship and 178 councillorship seats in Yobe State.
The Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOIEC), Dr. Mamman Muhammad, announced the results at the commission’s headquarters in Damaturu on Sunday. He congratulated the electorate for ensuring a free and peaceful poll.
According to Dr. Muhammad, the APC candidates satisfied the legal requirements and scored the majority of valid votes cast in each of the elections.
He declared the APC winners of all the chairmanship and councillorship seats, including Bukar Adamu of Damaturu Local Government.
The commission received, considered, validated, and adopted the results of each of the 178 councillorship wards, confirming the APC’s sweeping victory.
