Apply: CDCFIB Opens Recruitment Portal for Correctional, Immigration, Fire and Civil Defence Services

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the commencement of nationwide recruitment into the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

A statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the Board said the online application portal will officially open on Thursday, June 26, 2025, and remain accessible for three weeks.

According to the statement, the recruitment exercise aims to fill over 30,000 vacancies across the four paramilitary agencies. The breakdown of the approved vacancies includes: Nigerian Correctional Service – 5,150 slots; Nigeria Immigration Service – 10,000; Federal Fire Service – 5,000; and Civil Defence Corps – 10,000.

The Board invites suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for various positions categorized into Superintendent Cadre, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre, each with specified academic and professional requirements.

Breakdown of Vacancies:

Category A: General Duty (Superintendent Cadre)

Superintendent of Corrections, CONFSS 09 – MBBS degree holders (NCoS only)

Assistant Superintendent I, CONFASS 09 – Degrees in Law, Engineering, Criminology, Estate Management (FFS only)

Assistant Superintendent II, CONFASS 08 – Bachelors/HND holders (All agencies)


Category B: Inspectorate Cadre

Inspector, CONPASS 07 – Registered Nurses and Psychiatric Nurses (Available only in NIS)

Assistant Inspector, CONPASS 06 – ND holders from recognized polytechnics


Category C: Assistant Cadre

Assistant II, CONPASS 04 – SSCE/NECO/GCE with minimum 5 credits including English and Mathematics, or Trade Test Grade II

Assistant III, CONPASS 03 – SSCE/NECO/GCE with minimum 4 credits, or Trade Test Grade III


Application Process:

Applicants are to submit applications through the Board’s portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.org, starting from Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Applicants are warned to apply for only one agency, as multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.

Statutory Requirements:

Must be a Nigerian by birth

Possess relevant qualifications (Certificates not presented at screening will be forfeited)

Be physically and mentally fit, with medical certificate from government hospital

Be of good character with no criminal conviction

Must not be involved in financial embarrassment

Age must fall between 18 and 35 years

Height: Minimum of 1.65m (male) and 1.60m (female)

Chest measurement (men only): Not less than 0.87m

Computer literacy is an added advantage

The Board reiterated that the application is free of charge, warning applicants against engaging with fraudsters.
