The Federal Government has commenced the application process for the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) aimed at boosting the welfare, financial stability and professional growth of academic and non-teaching staff in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
The scheme, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), allows each eligible staff member to access up to ₦10 million, subject to a ceiling of 33.3 per cent of their gross annual salary.
According to an internal memo signed by Mr Muyiwa Harrison, Deputy Registrar, on behalf of the Registrar of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), the application portal – https://tissf.education.gov.ng – is now active.
The memo stated that interested staff are also encouraged to participate in the virtual launch of the programme scheduled for Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, via Microsoft Teams.
The TISSF, it added, is designed to enhance the well-being of staff while promoting professional development across tertiary institutions in the country.
