The programme is open to students enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes in fields including Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics and the Natural Sciences.

According to Google, selected applicants will work with teams across Google Research, Google Cloud, Google DeepMind and other units on cutting-edge challenges in Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Generative Media and related areas.

The company said placements would vary in duration depending on the team and project, with selected candidates required to reside in designated host cities for the entire period of engagement. Preferred locations include Zürich, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Grenoble, Accra, Nairobi and London.

Google added that prior research experience, strong programming skills and contributions to academic publications would give applicants a competitive advantage.

The application deadline is Feb. 26, 2026.

The initiative aligns with the Prof. Isa Pantami Foundation’s mission to support academic excellence and expand access to global research opportunities for young scholars.
