The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) has announced the opening of applications for academic and non-academic positions across various faculties and departments of the institution.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Brig.-Gen. HY Abdulhamid (PhD), and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Biu, the university invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for teaching and administrative roles.
According to the statement, the academic positions available include Graduate Assistant, Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer II, Lecturer I, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor.
It stated that while a first degree with a first-class or second-class upper was required for the position of Graduate Assistant, higher qualifications and publications were necessary for senior academic roles.
The Registrar noted that candidates for the post of Professor must possess a PhD with at least 20 publications and 12 years of cognate experience, while Associate Professors are expected to have a PhD, 15 publications, and nine years of cognate experience.
He added that lecturers and assistant lecturers must hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and experience, with minimum publication requirements varying by rank.
Abdulhamid listed the available faculties to include Arts and Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Computing, and Environmental Sciences.
Departments within these faculties range from Accounting, Political Science, and International Relations to Computer Science, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Sciences.
The university also announced vacancies in the Library Department for positions such as Assistant Librarian, Librarian I and II, Principal Librarian, and Senior Librarian.
In addition, non-teaching positions are open for medical doctors, nurses, technologists, and administrative staff with relevant qualifications.
According to the statement, interested candidates are to submit their applications through the university’s email address: HRM@naub.edu.ng.
The Registrar stated that the deadline for submission of applications is two weeks from the date of the advertisement.
