Army Arrests Kidnappers, Rescues Victims in Taraba

The Nigerian Army has intensified its operations in Taraba State, arresting three kidnappers and rescuing two victims in a raid on suspected hideouts at Adamu Katibu Mountain in Lau Local Government Area.

Troops from 6 Brigade and Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted the operation on July 8, 2024, following thorough intelligence gathering and surveillance.

The kidnappers, members of a notorious gang, were captured after a gunfight and abandoned their hostages. The suspects, Haruna Buba, Hassan Kakale, and Hussaini Kakale, were apprehended and are currently being interrogated.

The rescued victims, Hauwa’u Alh Umaru and Asma’u Alh Umaru, were abducted on July 7, 2024, and have been reunited with their families after receiving psychological and medical support.

In a separate incident, troops discovered the lifeless body of Alhaji Gana, a notorious terrorist, in Wukari LGA, believed to have been killed by a rival terrorist group.

The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and security of Taraba State residents and encourages the public to stay vigilant and cooperate with security forces by providing timely information to help curb criminal activities in the region.
