Army Commander Tours Remote Taraba Communities, Assures Safety

The Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has embarked on an operational visit to remote towns in Lau and Karim-Lamido LGAs of Taraba State.

The visit aims to reassure the local population of the army’s commitment to securing their lives and properties.

During the visit, the Commander held meetings with local leaders, community members, and key stakeholders to address security concerns and discuss collaborative efforts towards maintaining peace and stability in the region. The visit follows the gruesome murder of Chief of Gidan Usmanu Village, Alhaji Auwal Wali, by suspected bandits.

Brigadier General Uwa emphasized the crucial role of the people of Karim-Lamido in supporting the brigade’s operations and encouraged the community to report any suspicious activities for prompt response.

The Chairman of Karim-Lamido Local Government and the Chief of Wurkun District expressed their gratitude for the military’s support and commended the strong relationship between the military and the people of Karim-Lamido.

The Commander also paid a condolence visit to the residence of the Chief of Gidan Usmanu, assuring the bereaved families of the army’s commitment to hunting down the perpetrators of the dastardly act in collaboration with other security agencies.
