ASUU, Gombe Government Avert Strike with Agreement

A meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) national delegation and Gombe State Government officials has resulted in an agreement, averting a planned industrial strike on Thursday.

The Gombe State Government team, led by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, included Commissioner of Science, Technology, and Innovation Abdullahi Bappa Garkuwa, Principal Private Secretary/Permanent Secretary Prof. Mua’zu Shehu, Permanent Secretary SS&Pol Salihu Sambo, and SSA Research and Documentation Government House Dr. Adamu Ahmad.

The ASUU NEC delegation was led by Prof. Daniel Gongula, accompanied by the Chairperson of GSU ASUU Chapter and executive members.

During the meeting, areas of disagreement were addressed, and the planned strike was shelved. The government assured ASUU that their demands would be met within the shortest possible time.
