Key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have resolved to bury their differences and work towards rebuilding a stronger and united party ahead of future political engagements.
The resolution was reached during a high-level reconciliation meeting held Thursday, chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni. Also in attendance was the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari.
The meeting brought together prominent figures of the APC in Bauchi State, including former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara; Senator Umar Shehu Buba; and former governors Mallam Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abubakar.
Others in attendance included the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate; two former deputy governors; and other key party stalwarts from across the state.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, Mamman Mohammed, the stakeholders used the meeting to express joy at the opportunity to reconcile and strengthen internal cohesion within the party.
The participants reportedly embraced one another, pledging to work collectively for the progress and stability of the APC in Bauchi State.
“This meeting marks a turning point for our party in Bauchi. The leaders have demonstrated statesmanship by setting aside their personal and political differences for the good of the APC,” the statement said.
The reconciliation is seen as a strategic step towards repositioning the APC in Bauchi State as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
