The Bauchi State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N96.676 billion for 2024.
The approval followed the adoption of the House Committee on Appropriations report during its plenary session.
The supplementary budget aims to address gaps in the initial 2024 budget, addressing changing economic conditions and providing funds for unforeseen expenditures.
It also allocates additional resources for both ongoing and new development projects throughout the state.
Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Habibu Umar, recommended
that MDAs report their performance regularly, warning that underperforming revenue lines may not be included in the 2025 budget.
Umar also suggested that the House issue a letter of commendation to the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport for their outstanding presentation and defense of the ministry’s 2024 budget performance.
