Bauchi Emirate Appoints Governor’s Elder Brother as Council Member

The Bauchi Emirate Council has appointed Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, the elder brother of Governor Bala Mohammed, as a member of the council representing the district heads.

The appointment, effective July 11, 2024, was approved by the Local Government Service Commission and announced in a letter to the Emirate Council.

Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, the District Head of Duguri, will fill the vacant seat of representative of District Heads in the Council. The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Council Secretary, Alh Shehu Mudi Muhammad.

The development has sparked interest in the state, given the proximity of the appointee to the governor. However, the council has congratulated the District Head on his “well-deserved appointment.”
