Bauchi: Governor Bala Inaugurates 500 Cadets & Traffic Marshals

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has officially inaugurated 500 cadets and traffic marshals who successfully completed extensive training under the Bauchi State Road Traffic Agency (BAROTA).

Speaking at the Passing Out Parade (POP) ceremony on Saturday, Mohammed commended the cadets for their discipline, dedication, and hard work, describing them as a new generation of leaders ready to transform road safety and traffic management across the state.

He highlighted BAROTA’s pivotal role in tackling road transport challenges, ensuring safety, and enforcing traffic laws.

The agency, Mohammed explained, is empowered to enforce traffic regulations, manage traffic flow, prevent violations, and impound obstructive vehicles.

While reiterating his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting BAROTA by providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and continuous training, Mohammed unveiled plans to expand the workforce to 2,000 personnel, emphasizing that integrity, professionalism, and compassion must guide their operations.

In a stern warning, Governor Mohammed cautioned the newly inaugurated officers against indiscipline, corruption, and abuse of power, affirming that any misconduct will not be tolerated.

He assured them of operational autonomy while urging them to remain focused on their responsibilities.

To enhance coordination, Governor Mohammed directed local government chairmen to collaborate with BAROTA to establish offices in their respective areas, ensuring effective service delivery across the state.

Goodwill messages from representatives of the FRSC, Ministry of Works and Transport, and the Bauchi State House of Assembly Speaker congratulated the cadets on their achievements, recognizing their essential role in promoting road safety and orderliness in Bauchi State.
