The Bauchi State Government has inaugurated a tripartite technical committee to implement the new national minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants.
Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Bauchi Chapter, Dauda Shu’aibu, disclosed this On Saturday while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting with labour leaders.
“The committee comprises representatives from the state government, NLC, and Trade Union Congress (TUC). We agreed on N70,000 minimum wage and will commence negotiations on Oct. 7,” Shu’aibu said.
He explained that the implementation process involves five key steps: negotiation, legislation, presidential assent, gazetting, and issuance of circulars.
“The NLC national leadership has organized training sessions on negotiation strategies in Kano and Lagos to ensure smooth implementation,” he added.
