The Bauchi State Government says casual workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) will be given priority in its planned recruitment of 10,000 civil servants.
Dr Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, Chairman of the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission, disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi on Wednesday.
Muhammad said the recruitment exercise would be conducted by the commission in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
He said the initiative was part of efforts by the Bala Mohammed-led administration to strengthen the public workforce and reduce unemployment across the state’s 20 local government areas.
“The governor has graciously approved the recruitment of 10,000 qualified candidates. Priority will be given to casual workers who have diligently served in various MDAs across the state,” he said.
Muhammad appreciated the governor for the opportunity to serve, pledging to uphold professionalism and fairness in the civil service.
He assured that the rights of workers would be protected, including equal opportunities for career progression and access to benefits.
He said the state’s employment portal would soon be launched to allow interested and qualified candidates to apply.
The chairman also called on all MDAs to support the recruitment process to ensure transparency and equity.
