The Bauchi State Executive Council (SEC) on Thursday approved the procurement of four renal machines to be installed at the Renal Centre of the Specialists Hospital, Bauchi. This move aims to make renal services more accessible and affordable for patients.
According to the Commissioner of Health, Adamu Sambo, the decision was made to address the challenges faced by dialysis patients who are struggling to maintain their treatment due to the increasing cost of treatment at Abubakar-Tafawa-Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
The new renal machines will enable the government to separate patient categories, ensuring more effective services at the centre. This development is expected to significantly improve healthcare services in the state.
