A 300-level Computer Science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Naja’atu Salisu, has died after falling in the bathroom on Friday morning.
She was found unconscious in the female hostel bathroom at the Gubi campus and was rushed to the university’s clinic for medical attention.
Despite efforts to save her, medical personnel were unable to find a vein on her body, and she was later pronounced dead at the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. Naja’atu had been buried according to Islamic rites, and prayers were offered for the repose of her soul.
The university spokesperson, Zailani Bappa, confirmed the incident and expressed condolences to Naja’atu’s family and friends. The cause of her fall and subsequent death is still unknown.
