BICTDA, Jafi Electrical & IT Solutions Trains Upperclassmen in IoT and Embedded Systems

The Borno ICT Development Agency (BICTDA), in collaboration with Jafi Electrical & IT Solutions, trained 15 final-year Computer Engineering students from the University of Maiduguri in Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Systems using MicroPython (ESP32).

During the certificate presentation ceremony, the Executive Secretary of Borno State ICT Development Agency, Engr. Kabir Ahmad Wanori, FNSE, congratulated the participants and urged them to fully utilize the knowledge and skills acquired during the training. He emphasized the importance of utilizing these skills to address real-world problems, noting the growing industrial demand for IoT and embedded systems expertise.

Engr. Kabir Wanori, FNSE, also reaffirmed the agency’s commitment in digitizing Borno State in line with the policies and programs of the Executive Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum. He highlighted the agency’s achievements, including the establishment of 22 ICT centers across the state’s 27 local government areas, with 8 already commissioned and 14 set to be commissioned soon by His Excellency Prof Babagana Umara Zulum.

In his welcome address, the CEO of Jafi Electrical & IT Solutions, Alhaji (Engr.) Ibrahim Ismail, highlighted the aims of the program. He stated that the 7-day training held at the BICTDA Headquarters was aimed at equipping the participants with advanced MicroPython skills. These skills aim to empower the students to excel in their final-year projects and venture into IoT and embedded systems to develop solutions for real-world problems.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Jabiru Rabiu expressed gratitude to BICTDA and Jafi Electrical & IT Solutions for organizing the training. He assured the organizers that the knowledge and skills gained would be effectively utilised in solving real-world challenges.
