Borno: Nine Boys Return To IDP Camp Out Of Missing Victims

The Director General of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Muhammed Barkindo, disclosed that 9 boys out of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) reported missing in Gamborun Ngala have reappeared at the camp.

According to Barkindo, a total of 11 individuals have returned, consisting of 2 elderly women and 9 boys. The SEMA DG clarified that the missing IDPs had ventured out to gather firewood and eventually found their way back to the camp.

Contrary to initial reports, investigations by Zagazola revealed that a group of abducted women was initially taken to Tumbumma before being relocated to SABON TUMBU in Marte Local Government Area, indicating a more complex situation than initially perceived.

While several news outlets had initially reported that only girls were abducted by ISWAP, further scrutiny uncovered that over 40 percent of the victims were male, challenging the initial narrative surrounding the abduction incident.
