Borno Opens Govt Plots for Public Allocation

The Borno State Government has announced the availability of government residential and commercial plots for allocation through the Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS).

The announcement, made via official government notices, stated that the plots are located at BOTP/220, along Ring Road, Maiduguri, and are open to qualified Nigerians interested in land acquisition for various purposes.

According to the notice, the available plots are designated for residential, commercial, institutional, petroleum/gas plant, and recreational or park developments, with residential plots categorized into high, medium and low density.

Applicants are required to be 18 years of age or older, be Nigerian citizens, and possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN).

The government further explained that the land categories are classified as high density (0–450sqm), medium density (451–900sqm), and low density (901sqm and above).

A non-refundable application fee applies, with residential plots costing ₦5,000, commercial and institutional plots ₦10,000 each, while petroleum and gas plant plots attract ₦50,000.

The state government noted that applications can be completed online through the BOGIS portal or by scanning the QR code provided on the official flyers.

“Government plots are available at BOGIS,” the notice read, urging interested members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity.

The initiative is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to improve land administration, promote orderly urban development, and enhance transparency in land allocation across the state.
