Borno RRS Arrests 19, Recovers Hard Substances in Metro Raid

The Borno State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Anti-Social Vices Intelligence Team, has arrested 19 suspects in a targeted raid across several metropolitan locations in the state.

In a statement on Friday, the Command said the coordinated operation was carried out in Baga Road, Bulabulin, Lamisula, Galadima, Fori, Ngomari and Ummarari areas, following intelligence reports on criminal activities and public safety threats.

The suspects were apprehended for offences ranging from possession of dangerous weapons to unlawful gathering, public nuisance and vagrancy.

Items recovered during the operation include 33 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, one cup of dried leaves believed to be Laud, four pieces of diamond solution, one customised antelope horn and two bottles of a substance locally referred to as Suck and Die.

The Command noted that all suspects and exhibits are in custody undergoing preliminary investigation, after which they will be charged to court.
