Borrong Set to Host Nnoma-Jhar Cultural Reunion

Preparations are in top gear for the Nnoma-Jhar National Day 2025, a historic cultural reunion that will bring together people of common ancestry who have migrated across different locations in Nigeria.

The event, scheduled for April 24, 2025, will take place at Mboiman Square in Borrong, Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State. It is expected to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Nnoma and Jhar people.

The Nnoma people, originating from Tambo in Girei, Libo in Shelleng, Bwazza in Numan, Mbula, and Bille in Demsa, will reunite with their Jhar counterparts from Bununu, Duguri, Das, and other communities in Bauchi State. Despite being separated by migration, both groups share a common historical lineage.

Organisers say the event will feature traditional dance performances, exhibitions of artifacts, and literary displays that reflect the identity and heritage of the people.

Community leaders, cultural custodians, and dignitaries from various backgrounds are expected to attend, underscoring the significance of the occasion in strengthening ties among the Nnoma-Jhar people.

Cultural enthusiasts and participants have expressed excitement ahead of the event, which they say will serve as a platform to rekindle old connections and promote unity.

The convergence in Borrong is expected to attract a large turnout as the Nnoma and Jhar people prepare to celebrate their shared history and traditions.
