President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Ministers of Finance, Wale Edun, and Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, to develop a plan for paying the four months’ worth of withheld salaries to university non-teaching staff.
This development comes after the organized labour reported the Forceful stoppage of their peaceful protest by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command to the President. The labour union had been protesting the non-payment of their salaries.
The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) disclosed this information while briefing State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting between the President and the organized labour.
