The Gombe State Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transportation, Engr. Dr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, has lauded the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) for their significant contributions to the progress of Gombe State during the commemoration of Builders’ Day 2024.
During a courtesy visit on Thursday by the Excos and Members of the NIOB, Gombe State Chapter to the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Transportation, the Commissioner praised the builders for their role in the state’s development.
He urged them to prioritize professionalism and strict adherence to building regulations, even if it means sacrificing personal gains to enhance their credibility and trustworthiness.
Addressing concerns about building collapses, Engr. Dr. Kallamu emphasized the importance of upholding high standards in construction practices.

This year’s theme, “The Role of Builders in Sustainable Housing Delivery,” underscores the builders’ responsibility in ensuring the delivery of quality, affordable, and durable housing for all Nigerians.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment to infrastructure development in the state, Bldr. Abubakar commended the appointment of a professional engineer as the Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transportation.
