Buni approves N398m for Ramadan feeding, Tafsir in Yobe

Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved over N398 million for the 2026 Ramadan feeding programme and Tafsir across the state.

The approval, announced on Friday, is aimed at supporting vulnerable and less privileged residents during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative will be implemented through the Yobe State Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Re-Orientation to ensure effective coordination and equitable distribution of food items to beneficiaries across the state’s communities.

According to the government, the Ramadan feeding programme is designed to cushion the impact of economic hardship on indigent families, while the Tafsir sessions will provide spiritual guidance and religious enlightenment throughout the fasting period.

The government said the intervention reflects its commitment to promoting social welfare, religious harmony and moral re-orientation among residents.

It added that necessary arrangements had been concluded to ensure smooth implementation of the programme across the 17 local government areas of the state.
