Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has on Tuesday commiserated with the families and victims of an armed robbery attack in Ngalda, Fika Local Government Area, and dispatched a high-powered delegation to offer support.
The delegation, led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ciroma Buba Mashio, included top government officials and security officers.
Gov. Buni expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and sympathized with the injured and the entire Ngalda community. He directed immediate support for the victims to provide relief to the affected families.
“The state government will ensure succor is provided to the families of the deceased and those injured in this unfortunate incident,” Buni said.
The governor also tasked security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and block vulnerabilities that could enable such incidents in the future.
“You must conduct a thorough investigation and address all loopholes to prevent a recurrence. Ensure those involved are brought to justice,” he directed.
The attack occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Monday, shortly after the close of the weekly livestock market in Ngalda. Several people were reportedly killed, while others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at General Hospital Fika.
Gov. Buni assured the public of his administration’s commitment to enhancing security and protecting lives and property across the state.
