Buni Directs Support For Females Living With Disabilities In Damaturu

The Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide periodic support to Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) and other vulnerable populations within available resources.

On Monday, 21st of April 2024, a group of Females Living With Disabilities in Damaturu LGA were the recipients of this timely intervention during the Lean Season, amidst harsh weather and economic challenges.

The beneficiaries, carefully selected by the Network of PLWDs through their cluster leaders, received a food basket each, comprising essential items. It was emphasized that the recipients should not sell any item from the food baskets.

The beneficiaries were drawn from the Blind Cluster, Physically Challenged, Deaf Cluster, and Spinal Cord.

Dr. Goje Mohammed, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, personally delivered the food items (Rice and Condiments) to the beneficiaries.

He assured them that initiatives directed by Governor Buni, such as this, will continue across the state within available resources.
