Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Miss Amina Yakubu, a student of Yobe State University, who lost her life in a tragic traffic accident.
In a condolence message issued by his Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, the governor described the incident as a painful loss not only to the family of the deceased but also to the entire university community.
“My heartfelt condolences go to her parents, friends, relations, the Vice Chancellor, staff, students and the entire university community over the demise of this young, promising student,” Buni said.
He noted that as believers, creation and death remain within the will of Allah, the Almighty, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased in Aljannah Firdaus.
The governor also prayed for quick recovery of other victims who sustained injuries in the accident and directed that they be given free medical treatment.
Buni further appealed to motorists and other road users to exercise caution, particularly during the rainy season, to avert avoidable road mishaps.
