Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has paid an unscheduled visit to the construction site of the Damaturu Shopping Mall to assess the progress and quality of work on the project.
The Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Damaturu.
According to the statement, the governor’s visit was aimed at ensuring the project was on track, as contractors work round the clock to meet the completion deadline.
“The Governor was at the site unexpectedly to see the progress and quality of work on the project,” the statement read.
Buni directed the contractors to expedite work on the project, emphasizing the need for timely completion, especially as the construction of the Damaturu flyover near the mall is about to commence.
The statement reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, noting that the shopping mall would boost economic activities and provide business opportunities for residents.
