Buni Warns Yobe Youths Against Protests Amid Economic Hardship

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has cautioned Nigerian youths in the North East region against participating in protests, citing the potential dangers and counterproductive consequences.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant, Yusuf Ali, during the launch of the Ethical and Re-Orientation Campaign (Operation Gyaran Hali) on Thursday, Buni emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the region after years of Boko Haram insurgency.

The governor noted that another round of protests would exacerbate the already precarious security situation and economic hardship in the North East region and the country. He highlighted his administration’s efforts in training youths on responsible social media use and providing digital skills.

Buni urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, and parents to promote discipline, decency, and righteousness among youths for a better future.

This warning comes as the region struggles to recover from the devastating effects of the Boko Haram insurgency, which has left millions of people displaced and property worth billions destroyed.
