
Some bursars across tertiary institutions in Nigeria have commenced the review of applications on the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) platform following a virtual training session organized by the fund managers.
The training, held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, was designed to equip bursars with the technical knowledge required to manage the platform effectively, including application review, loan approval, and whitelisting procedures.
According to the organizers, the training provided step-by-step guidance on using the portal, live demonstrations, and answers to frequently asked questions to ensure a smooth operational rollout of the TISSF programme.
While some bursars have already started reviewing applications on the platform, others are still in the process of familiarizing themselves with the system.
The organizers stressed that full participation by all bursars was crucial to the timely implementation of the TISSF initiative, which aims to provide accessible financial support to staff of tertiary institutions nationwide.

The TISSF training represents part of the ongoing collaboration between the Bank of Industry (BOI) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to promote financial inclusion, transparency, and efficiency in managing staff support schemes across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
