The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued important guidelines ahead of its Computer-Based Test (CBT), cautioning candidates against using mobile phones during the online examination.
Candidates are strongly advised to use only laptops or desktop computers, as taking the test on mobile devices may cause technical disruptions that could lead to automatic disqualification.
The guidelines, made available on Sunday, emphasised the need for a stable internet connection and uninterrupted power supply throughout the examination period.
It stated that the online test would be monitored using Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, which would employ candidates’ cameras and microphones to track movement, detect background noise, and identify possible examination malpractice.
“Do not switch tabs or take screenshots during the test. The system is designed to detect any cheating attempt and may automatically terminate your session,”
Candidates were also instructed to take the examination in a quiet, well-lit room, ensuring that no other persons are present, as extra faces or movements could trigger the AI monitoring system.
Identity verification will also form part of the process, requiring candidates to clearly show their faces before starting the test.
The advisory urged applicants to remain calm and focused during the assessment, noting that the test timer would begin immediately after commencement, and refreshing the page unnecessarily could disrupt the session.
The official CDCFIB examination link is expected to be released on Monday, Nov. 11, and encouraged candidates to visit its official website for further information on test dates, times, and possible error messages.
