The Gombe State government, in collaboration with UNICEF and other North East states, has organized a two-day workshop on policy dialogue on social budgeting for child-sensitive sectors.
The workshop, held at the Custodian Hotel in Gombe on Wednesday, aimed to increase public allocation and expenditure for children’s rights and well-being.
Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau emphasized the need to increase public expenditure and allocation for children’s rights and well-being.
The Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Alh. Salisu Baba Alkali, said the workshop aimed to chart a path to adequate and sustainable financing of the social sector at federal and state levels.
UNICEF’s Dr. Auta emphasized the organization’s concern to improve the lives of children in the North East and Nigeria.
