A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Muhammad Ghali Abdulmumin, serving with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola, narrowly escaped assassination on Saturday.
Abdulmumin was attacked by criminals while on his way to his Primary Place of Assignment (PPA). A thief being chased in Wuro-Hausa ward of Yola town stumbled upon Abdulmumin and, with the help of an accomplice, stabbed him three times on his thigh and left leg.
The culprit fled to his father’s nearby house, where his father prevented good Samaritans from apprehending him. The matter was reported to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Yola, who arrested the father instead of the son, who has gone into hiding.
Abdulmumin is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
