
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says a total of 6,232,673 Nigerians have completed their online pre-registration for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The commission disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.
INEC stated that the figure was recorded between Sept. 22 and Sept. 28, 2025.
According to the data, 3,250,338 of the registrants, representing 52.15 per cent, are females, while 2,982,335, representing 47.85 per cent, are males.
The data also showed that 4,230,715 of the registrants fall within the youth age bracket of 18 to 34 years, while 1,565,824 identified as students. Persons with disabilities accounted for 137,865 of the total.
The commission further noted that between Sept. 22 and Sept. 26, 1,004,132 Nigerians completed either online or physical registration.
It said out of the number, 537,743 completed the process online, while 466,389 completed theirs physically.
INEC added that 555,077 of those registered within the five-day period were female, while 449,055 were male. It also recorded 742,379 youths, 354,406 students, and 13,987 persons with disabilities within the same period.
The nationwide CVR exercise commenced on Aug. 18, 2025.
INEC had earlier warned against underage and multiple registrations, stating that violators would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
