Damaturu Federal Poly: Rector Orders Contractors Back To Project Sites

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Dr Ibrahim Bello, has ordered absent contractors to return to their sites immediately and improve the quality of their work.

Mr Bello issued the directive after expressing dissatisfaction with the quality and progress of ongoing projects during his tour of the institution’s departments and units on Saturday in Damaturu.

He instructed the director of physical planning to notify contractors who were absent during his visit, urging them to resume work immediately.

The rector also stressed the need for better construction standards, ensuring projects are completed swiftly within the specified timeframe.

During his visit to the polytechnic’s central store, Bello ordered its immediate renovation and restocking to revitalise the unit.

He emphasised the importance of equipping the store with essential consumables and necessary working materials.

At the Entrepreneurship Development Department, the Supervising Director, Umar Ngoshe, briefed Bello on challenges, including a shortage of working materials and inadequate water supply.

In response, Mr Bello instructed the works and maintenance department to resolve the water supply issue without delay.

The rector also directed all offices within the institution to patronise the department’s products and services.

These included insecticides, soaps, air fresheners, knitting materials and clothing, as well as vehicle lubrication, diagnostics, and car washing services.

NAN reports that Bello’s tour highlights his commitment to improving infrastructure, resource availability, and service delivery across the institution.
