DSS Arrests 10 Boko Haram, ISWAP Suspects in Osun

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested 10 individuals suspected to be members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson for the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo.

Rasheed said the state government was working closely with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.

“The state government commends the vigilance and proactive efforts of our security personnel in countering the threat posed by these alleged terrorists,” Rasheed said.

According to him, Governor Adeleke lauded the intelligence-gathering efforts of the DSS, which led to the suspects’ arrest.

“This operation represents a significant breakthrough and a relief for the government and people of Osun. The governor assured residents of the government’s resolve to sustain efforts to ensure peace and security,” he added.

The arrests mark another step in the ongoing fight against insurgency in Nigeria as authorities continue to dismantle terrorist networks across the country.
